We pride ourselves on wherever possible using free range and organic meat, eggs and vegetables directly from local farmers. Here is our Main Menu, which features several great new dishes, plus all your old favourites, or please click here to view our Christmas 2017 menu.

Starters

Soup of the Day (v) £5.95

A bowl of home-made soup served with warm crusty bread & butter. (Please ask about today’s flavour)

Baked Camembert (v) £6.95

Whole baked camembert, served with apricot jam, salad garnish and slices of crusty bread.

Crayfish Cocktail £7.95

Fresh crayfish tails in a Marie Rose sauce on a bed of salad, served with a King prawn & crusty bread.

Smooth Chicken Liver Pâté £6.95

Home-made chicken liver pâté, served with a salad garnish, toasted bread and a caramelized red onion chutney.

Moules Marinière £7.95

Mussels cooked in a white wine garlic cream sauce and served with warm crusty bread & butter (tomato & basil option also available).

Chorizo Scotch Egg £6.95

Homemade chorizo scotch egg, served on a bed of salad and topped with Cajun mayonnaise.

Whole Breaded Whitebait £6.95

Served with tartare sauce, a slice of lemon, and a wedge of windmill bread and butter.

Vegetable Bruschetta (v) £5.95

Toasted ciabatta topped with mozzarella, red onion, sun dried tomatoes & pesto on a bed of salad with a balsamic glaze (add chorizo for an extra £1).

Sharing Meat Platter £10.95

A selection of cold and cooked meats (Parma ham, beef & chorizo), duck rolls, bread and olives, humus, mozzarella & sun dried tomatoes all served on an oak board with a salad garnish.

Crackled Free Range Pork Belly £14.95

A succulent portion of slow roasted pork belly sat on creamed bacon & leeks, served with Dauphinoise potatoes, apple purée and topped with crunchy crackling.

Sea Bream £14.95

Fillet of Sea bream served with garlic & herb sauté new potatoes, curly kale & a crayfish and lemon beurre noisette.

Plaice £14.95

Fillets of Plaice with a pesto herb crust served with a jersey royal, cannellini bean & spring green broth.

Chicken Breast £14.95

Free range chicken breast stuffed with spinach & feta wrapped in Parma ham, served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed leeks and a parsley & feta cream sauce.

Beef Bourguignon £13.95

Slowly braised beef brisket in a red wine jus served with a baked spring onion mash potato cake and seasonal vegetables.

Meat & Vegetable Pie £14.95

Home-made meat and vegetable pie served in a shortcrust pastry base, topped with a puff pastry lid, served with roast parsnips, and garlic & rosemary roasted potatoes. Ask us about today’s filling.

Duck Breast £15.95

Pan seared Duck breast (cooked pink) served with fondant potato, Hispi cabbage & a red wine and plum sauce.

Home Cooked Ham, Eggs & Chips £12.95

Tender, slow cooked honey & mustard glazed local ham, with two free range eggs and a generous portion of chunky chips and a salad garnish.

Haddock & Chips £13.95

Hand battered local haddock, deep fried to perfection and served with chunky pub-style chips, crushed peas and tartare sauce.

Vegetable Wellington (v) £13.95

A puff pastry wellington filled with spinach, red onion, mushroom, mixed peppers and tomatoes, topped with goat's cheese, served with a tomato & basil sauce and garlic & herb sauté potatoes.

Vegetable Risotto (v) £13.95

A seasonal vegetable risotto served with a parmesan crisp.

Served Wednesday to Saturday until 6pm. Choose either a fresh baguette or a piping hot jacket potato filled with one of:

  • Steak and Caramelised onion
  • Smoked bacon, brie and cranberry Sauce
  • Smokey BBQ pulled pork and melted cheddar
  • Garlic sautéed tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella & pesto (v)
  • Crayfish tails in a Marie Rose sauce

Ploughman’s Lunches £11.95

Served Wednesday to Saturday until 6pm. Choose one of the following:

  • Stilton, Brie, Cheddar, Cranberry Wensleydale, or Soft Goats Cheese (v)
  • Pork Pie
  • Honey Glazed Ham

Served with grapes, gherkin, pickled onion, onion chutney, coleslaw, baguette and a side salad.

A delicious home-made cheesecake, generally made using seasonal ingredients and served with cream or ice cream.
